A weekend visit with family

2004929We're having a lovely weekend in Stone in Staffordshire (England) visiting my grandparents (Ethne and Joe). Stone is an old canal town and in the photo I'm sitting on a lock on the trent and Mersey canal in front of our house. The locks are used by narrow boats to go up and down hill. These days the canal is used only for pleasure and today there are many people going by in the colourful painted boats enjoying their summer holidays. What lovely countryside there is here!
