Old Faithful

I am now visiting Yellowstone National Park.  Yellowstone is the oldest national park in the world. I think it is also the largest national park in the US.  We only had one day to visit the park, so we chose to see the area of the park where all the geysers are. This is a photo of me in front of Old Faithful. Old Faithful erupts more frequently than any of the other big geysers.  On average it erupts about every 90 minutes.  The eruption lasts between 1 and 5 minutes. The majority of the world’s active geysers are here in the Upper Geyser Basin. Only three other locations in the world—Iceland, New Zealand, and Siberia have large concentrations of hydrothermal (big word) features. There sure is lots to learn here.
