The Supreme Court

CIMG1309.JPG

2004652 After visiting the Capitol I walked over to the Supreme Court building.  The Supreme Court is the highest judicial body in the United States and is made up of one Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices.  The Supreme Court first met in 1790 in New York.  It then moved to Philadelphia and finally Washington D.C. in 1800.  However, the building I am in front of that we all know as the Supreme Court Building was not built until 1935.  The four-story building was designed in a classical style sympathetic to the surrounding buildings of the Capitol complex and Library of Congress
