Chocolat in London for Bede's Birthday Treat
Posted January 14th, 2012 by 530435We left Plymouth on Friday 13 January 2012 at 16.30. Bede's Dad drove all the way to London. Whilst we were in the car, we had a picnic and drinks and Bede and Ava played on their games.
We arrived in the big smoke at 20.30, there were lots of big buildings and lights. It was really exciting. We were all so excited we couldn't sleep.

I have been back at school for the term. Class One have been very busy studying the Vikings. We had two exciting days together with children from the Cathedral School where we made costumes, swords, shields etc. on the first day and dressed up and did cooking, weaving and clay pot making as well as role play, singing and learning how to fight like Vikings on the second day.
I'm spending the half term holiday with Holly.

Home again, Home Again
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWilde
After breakfast Louise left us to drive back to Southport. Mrs. Wilde and I waited in the airport until it was time to catch our flight back to Plymouth. I really enjoyed the flight. The weather was clear and I enjoyed looking out of the aeroplane window. We got back to Plymouth about 5pm on 30th October ready to return to school on Monday 1st November.
Last day
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWildeWe explored Plockton again and other parts of the local area before driving up to a viewpoint on the way to Glenelg. Stopped to take photos but decided not to continue on to Glenelg due to the weather. Started drive back to Glasgow. Stayed overnight at airport again.
Applecross at last
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWilde
We eventually got to visit Applecross, which is a very remote village, but we had to go the long way round via the coast road. It was a long drive but very scenic. It was a pity the weather wasn't better though as it rained a lot. We explored the peninsula and ended up in the back of the back of beyond.
Over the bridge to Skye
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWilde
The weather was not good for the last half of the week. We explored Skye for a day. We ended up in Elgol where there was a lovely small school right on the lochside. the cuillin mountains were very dark as the rain came over.
Missed out on the scary road
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWildeWe wanted to drive to Applecross which is quite a remote village. We were hoping to take the Bealach na Ba which is a very scary mountain road. It is the highest road in Britain (2053'). Unfortunately the road was closed for maintenance for five weeks so we didn't get to see it. We stayed in Lochcarron area for the day instead. We visited the weavers and I watched tartan being made.
On the trail of Hamish Macbeth
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWildeAfter church on Sunday in nearby Dornie we drove up to a viewpoint overlooking the loch with a fantastic view of Eilean Donan Castle. After that we explored Plockton which is a lovely village. The weather was quite good. We decided to have lunch in a restaurant in the village. In the evening we watched episodes of Hamish Macbeth and recognised the places where we had just been exploring.
Scottish adventure with Mrs Wilde
Posted December 3rd, 2010 by JCWildeOn 22nd October I left school in Plymouth and flew up to Glasgow with Mrs. Wilde. We stayed over night at the airport and we were joined by Louise who is Mrs Wilde's sister. The next morning we drove up to Duirinish near Plockton close to the Kyle of Lochalsh. It was a beautiful drive. The scenery was stunning. The Autumn colours were fantastic and there was snow on the mountains. We drove along Loch Lomond, through Glen Coe, Through the Great Glen and on to our destination passing the very familiar landmark of Eilean Donan Castle. We were staying at Duirinish holiday lodges which are lovely log cabins.
